History of CorningWare

The original CorningWare® bakeware was first introduced in 1958. It was made of a glass-ceramic material, which offered the consumer a product with superior thermal benefits which is still unsurpassed in the market today.

In the late 1990’s, most CorningWare products were switched to ceramic stoneware production.  The stoneware transition was made, in part, to ensure that the brand adapted to the evolving tastes of consumers who today put a premium on colour and design. In addition, with the advent of the microwave, the thermal benefits of the original material diminished in importance for home cooks.

CorningWare is still the market leader today, popular amongst home cooks, brides-to-be and consumers ranging in age from the young home starter to the empty nesters. Its convenient same-dish baking and serving, whether for casual or formal dining gives CorningWare its universal appeal.
